Coronavirus (COVID 19)

We are very carefully monitoring the situation about the Coronavirus, and are implementing the necessary changes required to ensure that we deliver Primary Care as safely as possible under exceptional circumstances.

• The safety of our patients and staff is our number one priority therefore with immediate effect the practice will move to a telephone triage system. If you have, a routine appointment booked in the future please note that this is now a telephone consultation and a Doctor will contact you directly on the telephone number we hold on your medical record. It is therefore important that you provide us with up to date contact numbers

•The practice doors are closed patients who have been invited to attend the practice by a Doctor or a nurse will need to ring the front door bell for assistance.

•If you have a new, continuous cough or fever please, follow government advice and self-isolate, for more information visit: gov.uk  or nhs.uk DO NOT come into the practice

• Following your consultation with NHS111 you may be referred back to your GP, in these cases NHS111 will notify ourselves and we will contact you directly, do not turn up at the practice unless advised to do so by the GP

• If you turn up to the practice without an appointment our staff will ask you to leave the premises and call us using the practice telephone number 01768772025, this is to prevent any cross contamination to vulnerable patients and staff.

• Please can we ask that you check on any elderly relatives and neighbors during this difficult time as they are now at their most vulnerable.

We would like to reassure you that we are taking as many precautions as we possibly can to ensure the safety of all our patients and staff. We thank you for your patience and appreciated you support and understanding.

How to get healthcare during the coronavirus outbreak

Dispensary

•All prescription related requests and queries are to be dealt with by leaving a precise message on the dispensary answerphone line: 017687 72125. A team of staff will be continually monitoring the answerphone and aim to deal with the queries within 24 hours (excluding weekends).

•We are having to alter the way we work to meet demands that COVID 19 has placed upon us. We request that you allow a minimum of 96 hours for the turnaround of your prescription request (not including the weekend). If you allow us 96 hours to prepare your prescription then we will endeavour to have it ready in that time period and there is no need for you to check to see if it is ready.

•The doctors have adopted NHS Guidelines and we will continue to dispense medication on a monthly basis. We will NOT be prescribing more than a month’s supply of medication to anyone, as this would potentially destabilise the supply chain.
