SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL GP PRACTICE
FLU & WINTER HEALTHCARE CAMPAIGN
The Doctors Nurses and Health Care Assistants, at Castlehead Medical Centre would like to invite all their eligible patients to make an appointment for their annual flu vaccination. Flu is an unpleasant illness which can become dangerous. The NHS in Cumbria is again this year providing a free vaccination to all children aged 2, 3 and 4 years through GP Practices and in nearly all cases this is a painless nasal spray.
We also provide vaccination for people 65 years and above and anyone younger who have a chronic condition such as diabetes, heart disease, strokes, chronic kidney or liver disease, immunosuppression due to disease or treatment, asthma requiring inhaled steroids and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Pregnant women at all stages of their pregnancy are also urged to be vaccinated. Carers may also be eligible, please ring to check.
Young people aged 18 to 25 years are also advised to have a vaccination against Meningitis ACWY – please make an appointment with the nurse.
This is an ideal opportunity to check if you need any other routine vaccinations such as shingles, pneumococcal and tetanus.
We would urge all of our eligible patients to ring us at Castlehead Medical Centre 017687 72025 to make an appointment. PLEASE NOTE- vaccinations for patients aged 65 years and over are available from 12th September and vaccinations for patients under 65 years are available from 24th September. You may book your Flu vaccination appointment in advance; if you provide us with your mobile number at the time of booking your appointment it will enable us to send you a text reminder prior to your appointment.
