Statement to Patients (COVID19)

First and foremost we would like to thank all those patients that have been understanding and supportive as we struggle to meet the demands that COVID19 has placed upon the practice.

We have reduced staff and the dispensary department is inundated with extra requests from patients who would not normally make such requests for medication.

Normally we can turn medication requests around in the 48 hours notice however, this is now virtually impossible. This is due to many reasons, staff absence, shortage of medication from suppliers and as previously stated the extra requests that we would not normally receive.

We request that you allow a minimum of 96 hours for the turnaround of prescription requests. We will do our utmost best to achieve this but it may not always be possible and we trust that you will understand that it is as a result of the above mentioned reasons. Please be patient.

All prescription related queries are to be dealt with by leaving a precise message on the dispensary prescription answerphone line 017687 80125. A team of staff will be continually monitoring the answerphone to deal with the queries.

Sadly I must reiterate to those patients who are in the minority, who verbally abuse our staff. We have a zero tolerance for both verbal and physical abuse. Do not take your anger or frustration out on the very staff who are working tirelessly to provide and protect all our patients.

Please respect all our staff who are putting themselves on the frontline everyday and putting their own health and wellbeing at stake to provide frontline services for our patients.

Thank you to each and every member of staff working at Castlehead Medical Centre for keeping patients safe and well.
